surprise!

Looking back at my pictures from the month, it appears as though the boys took a lot of baths in November. Up till this weekend, I didn't take picture of the boys doing anything else, though I do remember a trip to the coast to go to the aquarium, trips to the farmers market and lots of random fun here and there (including a girls trip for Susie and I to IKEA). Oh- and Owen got to go to two "shows" at OSU: a lecture on the Mars Rover, and to see the Nutcracker. He was attentive at both and they made a big impact.

In the middle of the month, Heather hit a milestone birthday, and so a few of us decided we needed to do something... that something turned into a beautiful PINK cube and a princess themed surprise party the next night. The joke being she hates pink and princesses. The joke was lost on some colleagues, but the entire ME team pitched in and helped girly up her usually dull grey work space. The surprise party was a hit, with the kids having the most fun "surprising" Heather over and over again.

This past week we had a wonderful treat as well as another wonderful surprise. The treat was that my dad came out to visit and the boys got to spend quality grandpa time reading books, romping around the house and playing games. Both boys soaked up the Grandpa love. The surprise was an early snowfall Monday night, which closed school Tuesday. We had a fun snow day with Laurel joining in. This was Ben's first time really getting to experience snow. He fell in love with snowballs, icicles, and mittens. He LOVES mittens, bringing them to his nap with him, carrying them around the house. Dad and Susie's family flew to Hawaii today, but first Dad got to visit Owen's school for grandparents day.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving- the pumpkin pie is cooling and we are looking forward to dinner at the Stokes'.
