basketball ben

Ben took some basketball skills classes at Timberhill this winter, followed by a short basketball team season.  He really enjoyed the games- and made a few excellent baskets.  The team overall was quite overpowered by most of the other teams- the score keeper had to get creative at the end to keep the scores from looking so unbalanced.   But everyone played with good effort and good spirits and Ben wants to keep playing.

ski season

It was a tough winter for avid Oregon skiers.  The closest slopes to us were closed almost all season due to poor snow fall.  Richard and Owen made it to Bachelor for a weekend in January, then the four of us went there for a long weekend in February.   One small benefit was it was warm enough to ski in t-shirts.

Owen continued to grow his skiing skills and continued to love it.  He was skiing on blues this year, and took another ski lesson to learn how to use poles.

Ben took lessons this winter, too, and had some pretty good runs down the training hill.  He's hoping to get on a ski lift next ski season.

We all enjoyed the rest of what Sun River has to offer, including hot tubs at the lodge and good food.  We spent time at the Sun River wildlife center and a day at the High Desert Museum.

Here's hoping for more snow next year- for many reasons!
